Schedule playlist play times

Rotate playlists and menus by time of day on autopilot — breakfast in the morning, dinner at night, an after-hours promo overnight.

Before you start

  • Logged in to your dashboard
  • At least two playlists or menus to rotate between
  1. 1

    Open the Schedule page

In the sidebar, click the violet Schedule button. The editor opens and lists any rules you already have.
  2. 2

    Click "Add Rule"

Click Add Rule at the top of the list. A blank rule opens inline, ready to fill in.
  3. 3

    Pick what to play

Open the Playlist Type dropdown and choose what runs during this rule:

Playlist I–V — any of your five content playlists.
Menu 1 or Menu 2 — one of your menu slots.

    Choose days of the week

    Set the time window

Set a Start Time and End Time in 24-hour format — breakfast might be 06:00 to 14:00. Overnight windows work too, like 22:00 to 06:00 for late-night content.

  6. 6

    Enable the rule and save

Check the Enabled box, then click Save. Disabled rules stay in the list without affecting playback — handy for seasonal schedules you’ll switch back on later.
  7. 7

Add more rules to cover the day

Repeat for each window you want — Menu 1 (06:00–14:00), Menu 2 (14:00–22:00), a Late-Night Promo (22:00–06:00). Every rule is independent and can be toggled on or off anytime.

    Launch a scheduled display

On the display device, open the Launch Display URL. It checks the schedule about once a minute and flips to the right playlist or menu as each window opens.

Tack ?debug=1 onto the URL to see which rule is currently winning.

Tips & Common Issues

  • Rules overlap? The tighter window wins — a Happy-Hour rule (4–7 PM, Mon–Fri) beats a broad Weekday rule (9 AM–9 PM).
  • Times follow the display device’s local clock — double-check the timezone on your TV or Pi before trusting the schedule.
  • Test it: add a rule that’s active right now for a few minutes and watch the display switch within one.
  • Running one playlist 24/7? Skip rules entirely — the display just defaults to Playlist I.
