Menus

Customize menu colors & background

Make the menu match your brand — background color or image, header, price, and text colors, all from the Menu Details tab.

Before you start

  • A menu template open in the editor
  1. 1

    Go to Menu Details

In the menu editor, open the Menu Details tab and scroll to the colors & background section — all four controls live there.
MENU EDITOR Menu DetailsItemsSide OrdersDrinks click a tab to edit that section — everything saves to the same menu
  2. 2

Pick background type: Color or Image

Pick Color (a crisp, brand-perfect solid) or Image (a photo or pattern for a richer feel). Solid color wins for most menus — save Image for photo-heavy brands.
BACKGROUND TYPE Color solid swatch crisp · brand-perfect · lightweight Image photographic · branded · richer feel
  3. 3

    Set the background color

Click the swatch in the Background row to open the picker. Type a hex value (#1e293b) or use the color wheel.

Chose Image instead? Click Upload and pick a file. Subtle textures or tile-able patterns beat busy photos — the text has to stay readable.

Tune header, price, and text colors

Three more knobs handle the foreground:

Header (h_color) — section titles ("Menu", "Sides") and the company name. Go high-contrast so they pop.
Price (pn_h_color) — every price and number. Bright accents (yellow, gold, mint) catch the eye.
Text — item names and descriptions. Aim for 7:1 contrast against the background so it reads across a room.

Tips & Common Issues

  • Dark background, light text reads best on TVs. Skip pure black (#000000) — #0f172a or #1e293b is softer.
  • Match the menu to your brand or wall color — screen-and-room cohesion makes the space feel intentional.
  • Busy background image? Crank the text contrast to match, or the menu turns unreadable a few tables out.
